Wishing your organization could grow and be more impactful? I did too!
My path to starting a nonprofit began when I needed books for my classroom. Books are expensive and teachers aren’t known for having tons of extra cash sitting around.
From that idea, I started a tiny nonprofit to help teachers fund their classroom libraries. From there, it all took off…
but very, very slowly!
I went from having boxes of books in my basement to having
a custom built book bikemobile made just for us!
having our own community book source space for community members
10 community bookshelves in local businesses and organizations
tons more fun!
If only I would have known how to create the necessary foundational pieces and systems, that I now know how to create
to bring in more funding
retain staff and volunteers
have more fun!
After 18 years of teaching I transitioned into doing program development, training and nonprofit consulting.
It’s been a crazy and fun ride!
I use what I learned through this crazy ride to
support nonprofits, like yours, in having a bigger impact
And continue to support kids, teachers, and my community through my nonprofit
